The SO-20 has your maximum convenience in mind. After a few hours' charging, the SO-20 is ready to go no hassles with installing Skype or frustrations with endless setting configurations. The SO-20 will automatically detect any available networks, and you can simply select your preferred network and input a password if necessary. From there, sign directly into your existing Skype account, or create a new free Skype account right there on the phone. The SO-20 will connect to your account and import your contact list, along with such things as Skype Credit. Non-Skype mobile phone or landline users can call you directly if you opt into the SkypeIn program, while you can call non-Skype phones via the optional SkypeOut program. I purchased this phone to work in Mexico. The phone works as advertised in the U.S. It seems to go through batteries quite fast (much faster than a cell phone). My phone gets pretty warm when charging on AC. I try to do most charging through the USB port as it is much cooler. I purchased an extra battery (1000 ma)and it gets quite warm also.

I am very upset, I have not received this product yet, it has been over a month in ordering it. I would like to know what I can do to get a refund or to receive the product I ordered. I needed this to stay in contact with my family. please HELP!

There have been minor issues with garbled reception that have luckily been few and far between. I contacted Ipevo regarding the issue and two-weeks later I have yet to get a response. I haven't noticed the issue recently anyway. Auto-update is on so maybe there was a fix but that's still no excuse for blowing off a customer. But for the price it's probably no better or worse than purchasing a similar product from a different company. Customer service just doesn't seem to be a paragon of any modern corporation.

I have had this phone for a year... bought a hot spot card last year, and wanted to find a solution to replace my cell phone (getting raped by Verizon). Looked for a VOIP solution that would work on the Hot Spot - found the IPEVO-S20, and used it like a cell phone with my Hot Spot. Saved a crap load of money - about $1000/year. Beat the crap out of the IPEVO-S20 as a cell phone (VOIP), and still works well. I recently bought an unlocked nokia n900 since it has skype integrated - using that as my travel phone now with the hot spot.. so now the IPEVO-S20 is my home skype phone, using my wireless router.

I recently changed to a MAC and was disappointed to find out my current Skype phone had absolutely NO COMPATIBILITY with my MAC. The vendor had no intentions of upgrading the software, and since we call Europe for about 10 hours a week, I needed my Skype!
So I found the IPEVO SO-20 and ordered it. It shipped very quickly. I used the less expensive option and had it 2 days before the promise date. I was a bit leary of setting it up and didn't want to deal with the hassles. Well...there were zero hassles. I charged the phone for 3 hours at work when I received it, got home and within five minutes of opening the box, I was making my first call on the Skype phone.
One of the interesting features of this phone is the WiFi. I don't need to tether this phone to a computer! As long as I have an open WiFi network or the WEP key I can use this phone anywhere. So when we travel I plan on bringing this phone with me. By the way all 300 or so of my skype contacts sync'd no problem.
I'd definately recommend this product.
