Product Description magicJack is one of the most innovative new telecommunications products to be introduced in years. It's a small device that plugs into the USB port of a computer. You plug any standard analog telephone into the other side of the magicJack and it allows you to make unlimited local or long distance telephone calls to any phone (landline or cellular) in the United States or Canada. You also get a free phone number with your magicJack so it can be utilized both to receive and place calls. Area codes for approximately 70% of the U.S. are available. The first year of service is FREE. After the first year it's only $19.95 per year. Installation is simple and takes 60 seconds. All you need is Windows XP or Windows Vista or Mac and one of the following: DSL, broadband, cable internet, WiFi, WiMax, or high speed internet service. Calls from the magicJack to phone number outside the U.S. or Canada have highly competitive international rates. However, all calls between two magicJacks anwhere in the world are free.

good product, and great seller March 4, 2010 rickman (TX, USA) i got the product very quickly and it loaded the drivers immediately as soon as I plugged it in. The voice quality is excellent, even for international calls ( use calling cards). I have the magicjack for two months. I connected it to a laptop that is dedicated for just that. so far, no problems.
It works Great February 19, 2010 S. Lauryssens (Michigan) Initially I was skeptical about this product and thought to give it a try. We had been paying for 2 home phone lines one for internet and one for talking so our bills had been $120 a month. We then dropped one line and then went with Alltel broadband. We bought the magic jack and could not get it to register at all and the support person was great about it even though they could not solve it we eventually solved it on out own. We had to activate it with dial up and then it was able to work with Alltel. The problem was Alltel and their service was not fast enough. Alltel promised 3.1Mbps speed but we would be lucky during off peak times to reach 1 Mbps that so obviously it didn't work as well as expected. It did work but would cut out at times since our speed was not constant. After a year with Alltel ..... Alltel called us to tell us we roam too much and they were letting us out of the contract because we were costing them too much. Keep in mind during that time we did not use the magic jack and were planning to send it overseas to relatives so they could call us as much as they wanted. But we procrastinated and didn't get there. After Alltel dropped us we went with a new local company broadcasting Wi-fi and we now get guaranteed speeds of 3 Mbps speeds and the magic jack works perfectly. We tested it out while downloading and surfing before we decided to cancel our home phone long distance. It works fantastic and it may break a little if downloading huge files but it is still 100% better than cell phone usage breakup. We are now planning to buy another one to send over seas to relatives so they can call us as much as they want. As far as everything goes you have to make sure you have enough speed to get good clarity and now we have it, it works like a charm.
the best invention since the first phone February 8, 2010 S. Shokry (Toronto, Canada) if you have high speed internet, travel a lot, then this is simply a great way to communicate with your friends and relatives almost for free. it is like you have your own phone with you wherever you go.
magicjack January 21, 2010 Pamela K. Robello (Marysvale, UT United States) This just isn't going to work for me. My dsl isn't strong enough in that any time I am making a phone call using this while doing anything on the internet the phone connection is very spotty and breaks up to the point where the person on the other end cannot even understand what I am saying. For someone who doesn't do much on the internet, this would probably be a good option
Great- no problems. December 6, 2009 Elias Vernikos (Orlando, Florida) I have been using MJ several months (7-8) and it has worked perfectly. I have two of them.
The International rates are by far the lowest I have come across. The voice quality has been excellent
with a few, negligible occasions of "echo" . I have brought it with me in Europe and it does work
from wi-fi hot spots very well. On two occasions I had questions about functions and they were addressed courteously
and expertly by their staff. Plainly, I have no negative criticisms of MJ.
I am using an iMac at home and a simple Toshiba on the road. Absolutely satisfied, actually beyond my initial expectations.
