Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
IPEVO's best-selling handset for Skype. As one of the first plug-in handsets designed exclusively for Skype, the IPEVO FREE.1 has earned a reputation for its seamless less integration with the world's most popular VoIP software in a easy-to-use device. Simple and intuitive operations. The functions and buttons on the FREE.1 are tailor-made for the Skype experience, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of placing calls via a computer. A "s" key activates the Skype window on your desktop, a toggle "buddy jog" to let you effortlessly scroll through your contact list. Or simply press the "+" key to initiate a SkypeOut call, and use the number pad to dial out just like a regular telephone.

4 out of 5 stars Good for Skype and Mac OS X   August 11, 2008

I bought this because my wife didn't like using the computer for Skype, we dumped the land line. It made calling real easy. It is a little smaller than expected, but sound quality works great for my situation. Buttons are responsive and it feels solid. The way it allows you to navigate through Skype is a plus. The one downside is the software, you have to make sure you get the settings correct both in Skype and the IPEVO software and get them both to open at login. Other than that, it works well for the money and keeps me from paying the "man" and the wifey happy.

5 out of 5 stars Cool phone. Good voice quality.   May 31, 2008
Edward Lucero (California)
Saw this phone on the New York Times. I wasn't looking back then but remembered it when I switched to Mac and wanted to continue using Skype. Cool phone, nice to handle, cool voice. Would recommend

5 out of 5 stars Works perfectly with my macbook   May 31, 2008
Liz Nary (San Francisco, CA USA)
I love this product. It's hard enough finding gear for my mac... but the others I've tried also don't do a good job of echo cancelation. This is a well rounded product: good design, easy to pack, easy to use, great voice quality, great echo cancelation. A must have.

5 out of 5 stars The best voice quality for Skype   May 30, 2008
Henri Duong (Denver, CO USA)
This is the best voice quality and best echo cancelation of all the products I've tried out there. I even saw that Skype was using it at the Festival de Cannes for celebs to call with... awesome.

5 out of 5 stars Works great on Vista and Mac   February 3, 2008

I think IPEVO free.1 usb skype phone is a great product. It makes skype calls much more comfortable for a very good price (30 usd + s&h). It's very compact too. It's usb cord is 2.30 m long (7'6"). Works great both on my Toshiba Satellite L45 running Vista and my iBook G4 running OS X 10.4. You need to download the "drivers" from [...] to get full functionallity. It's actaully a small application that you have to keep running. Apparently the "start skype" button doesn't work on Vista, but that's probably because it's a beta version of the driver, I guess it will get fixed.
